Hidden Fees and Extra Charges
Some of the things to watch for are hidden
fees and extras that will ultimately cost you. Hidden fees
like the one of topping off the gas tank after your return
and paying an exorbitant fee for the gas is just one. Make
sure that they are supplying you with a car that is full of
gas and when you return it, make sure it is also full.
Additionally you will want
to watch for additional fees that are being charged. You may
find a great deal of say $20 a day and think it is the best
deal but when you really dig in you may fine that there is
a 10% sales tax, a vehicle license fee of say $20 an arena
fee of $8, now this raises your overall rental rate way above
the competitors price that had all these fees included.
Some other items to remember
when renting a car is to not rent the car at the airport if
at all possible. It is certain that many people because of
time constraints or business obligations cannot afford to
go off airport premises to rent but for the those of you who
can rent at a location away from the airport, you will find
the rate is lower because there will be no airport fee included.
Just know you will pay for the privilege.
Optional Car Rental Insurance
Another way that car rental
agencies make money is through selling you optional insurance.
It is wise not to take this out no matter what stories they
tell you. You will want to make sure that your own insurance
on your vehicles does cover a rental car should you have an
accident. Also, many credit card companies advertise that
if you use their credit card to rent a car that they will
cover the insurance on the vehicle in the case of an accident. |
