How to Get the Best Deal for a Car Rental
Introduction and Overview
The car rental industry in the United States, it is a $19
billion a year industry and needless to say with an industry
that consistently generates this kind of money, there is
big competition to get a larger piece of the pie.
Car Rental Prices Today
Even though the industry is so competitive the prices are
still relatively reasonable. With the major players being
Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National
and Thrifty, which are all well known names, you will find
each of these companies with large advertising budgets in
order to get and maintain the business. Smaller independent
companies make a smaller percentage of the overall revenue
generated in this industry but with a large number of small
car rental agencies collectively taking a higher percentage
of the market, the more well known companies have had to
make their offers more appealing in order to get the business.
Where the Business Really Lies
Amazingly enough, the major competition
is not so much for business or leisure rentals as much as
it is for the insurance replacement vehicle business. The
reason for this is that it is the bulk of the business overall.
Since there is an over abundance of competition
out there, you would believe that it would automatically
mean that it would equate to overall cheaper rates but not
necessarily because many people don’t know how to find the
best deals.
